We love the Inland Empire! Thank you Riverside girls for a fantastic visit!

Girls World Expo does change lives. As girls come together for a day that many find magical, they meet with and hear from successful women in the local community who show them the path to success. They attend workshops, listen to speakers, see demonstrations, science exhibits, and speak one-on-one with women who are leaders in business, government, industry, the arts, and many other realms of endeavor. It’s a rare opportunity for a girl to see what her future could be, and learn what it will take to get there.

But it’s not all work! Girls World Expo is also fun. There’s a fashion show, an art show, music and dance performances by talented local artists, and the always-popular GWE Marketplace, where girls can see and purchase everything from hair accessories to self-help materials, and clothing to jewelry.

It’s not just another Sunday. It’s a very special Sunday. It’s an opportunity to spend a day in a safe, secure environment inspired by the company of other girls and not just seeing but creating the future. Your future.

Girls World Expo-be there from 11-4 on Sunday, April 28th at the Riverside Auditorium & Events Center.

We invite nominations of girls 12-18 years old who through their actions, activities, leadership, and positive influence on others have proved themselves exceptional members of the community. Nominations may be submitted by any member of the community, including parents, teachers, counselors, mentors, nonprofit organizations leaders and others.

Girls of Merit show through a consistent pattern of actions and deeds that they:

• Care about their family, their friends, and their community
• Give of themselves in order to better the lives of others
• Have care and compassion for others
• Are strongly committed to excellence in all areas of their lives

if you would like to nominate a young woman as a Girl of Merit, please submit an e-mail message of 250-750 words telling us::

• Who you are nominating (name, address, phone, e-mail)
• Why you feel this person is a Girl of Merit, citing specific actions and achievements you feel distinguish her
• Your name, address, phone, and e-mail
